drug and alcohol services

Since 2014, publicly-funded drug and alcohol services can only be accessed through a single case-management/ mental illness system.

Attending a General Practitioner for a mental illness plan is now  the drug and alcohol service.

As the side affects and withdrawal affects of drugs and alcohol often resemble symptoms of mental illness, for example alcohol is a depressant,

people seeking drug and alcohol services, who do not mind being considered mentally ill, will be eligible for a diagnosis,

prescriptions of mood altering drugs and some management by psychologists and social workers.
