Tai Chi is a martial art, it is an internal art rather than an external one like Karate.
Its practice consists of a series of continuous movements performed slowly in a relaxed manner.
Though it is firstly a martial art, it is mostly practiced for the health benefits it offers.
Tai Chi develops strength and suppleness. With dedicated practice it will strengthen the body – especially the legs , because in Tai Chi we “sink the weight” which means we lower our centre of gravity when we perform the movements.
One unique feature of Tai Chi is that it promotes mental relaxation. It has often been described as a “moving meditation”.
